about me

Who I am…in just a bite!

I am a non-binary performing artist who spends their time cultivating brave(r) spaces for diversity, equity, and inclusivity.  My main goal in this life is to move “forever forward with Kindness” in order to connect with others on a deeper, more meaningful plane.

As a performing artist I most easily inhabit the troupe of the cute and funny comedic relief (a la Mel Brooks). I elevate said troupe by sprinkling on the gravitas of Bernadette Peters.

I am an AmSAT certified teacher of The Alexander Technique actively working to dismantle white supremacy within the technique so that it can be accessible and welcoming to all. Everyone deserves to learn how to inhabit themselves in an efficient, easeful and conscious way.

How I came to the technique

I was in the midst of pursuing a career as an actor and doing everything the “right way.” I had: made important connections with casting professionals, Tony Award Nominated actors, and established / consistently working professional actors. I was going to every audition and standing on-line at that ungodly hour of 5am to maybe be seen. I was taking voice lessons, acting class and, yes, the occasional dance class as well. I was receiving call-back, after call-back, after call-back, after final call-back, etc. Yet I still was not “booking the gig.”

I came to realize that, morphing through different versions of myself I
thought society and the theatre industry needed me to be, I had contorted myself in so many different ways I had lost my core personhood.
The technique has not only given me myself, in my truest, most authentic state, it has offered me a way to always come back home from wherever I choose to go.
